Moira: The kindergarten photography season is in full swing and I was also able to assist our kindergarten photographer. We often spend the whole day taking photos in kindergartens and it is always very lively and fun. As kindergarten photographers, we start by setting up our "mobile photo studio". The kindergartens choose a suitable background for their photo shoot in advance, which we then bring with us. But we also like to take photos in the kindergartens' own gardens when the weather is nice.
When everything is tested for kindergarten photography, you can start. The children come to us, the kindergarten photographers, in groups. Many children are already looking forward to it and can hardly wait to finally be photographed and have fun. I'm responsible for having fun, which is always very funny. But there are also some children who are very shy and reserved at first, and I am also responsible for these children. First I show them how the other children do it with the kindergarten photography and then I sit down and the fun comes into play again – and lo and behold, these children often turn out to be true natural talents. I show the children how best to stand and sit down and bring them to them kindergarten photography to laugh.
When we have photographed all children individually, we start with the sibling photos for kindergarten photography. The parents bring their siblings with them to the kindergarten. And even then there are often big surprises waiting for us kindergarten photographers, since the families often make each other laugh so much that after a few minutes we have many beautiful pictures "in the can".
It is always a nice change to take pictures in the kindergarten as a kindergarten photographer and then look at the results, because you always have something to laugh about afterwards and working with children is just a lot of fun.
