New tasks as a photographer companion
It's been more than half a year since I was allowed to start again at Photogenika after passing my final exam and a short break from traveling – this time as a companion photographer.
What has changed since then? Of course, a little more responsibility has been added, a few new tasks and also three dear new colleagues 🙂
For me, however, the biggest change is that, as a trained photographer, I am now also independently on external appointments in addition to studio photography.
Our photography outside the studio
This includes, on the one hand, private shootings such as outdoors Portrait Photos, family pictures at home in the context of a Home Story or family celebrations such as birthdays or baptisms. On the other hand, we also provide support for our business customers corporate events and create employee pictures or even a whole one company portrait, which is used for the website or printed advertising material.
The challenge on location
These jobs outside of the photo studio are particularly exciting for me because each one is full of new challenges. You have to familiarize yourself with the location and the available light as quickly as possible and have the program in your head.
In addition, one always works in consultation with the organizers, the family, the pastor and often together with other people such as videographers, whereby mutual consideration is required.
During my apprenticeship as an assistant, I learned everything about how to deal with photographically difficult situations, the equipment required and the entire process from preparation to post-processing.
Of course we are highly concentrated at work with every order and always looking for the optimal design for our motif, but we can also experience the lectures, celebrations, church services or concerts and get to know many nice people.
Below you will find a few pictures from the last events that I was allowed to accompany. Enjoy watching!
