Portrait in the dark – planning

Important:

bright lens
long exposure time
Best photographed in the "RAW" file format
Keep the ISO value as low as possible (50, 100)

So what we need:

tripod
fast lens (e.g. 28-70 mm)
external flashes
D300

The blue hour

The "blue hour" is one of the most popular and recommended times for night photography. By this time, the lights in the cities are already on and the sun has disappeared over the horizon. The sky conjures up a deep blue light and thus provides more contrast and variety in the later photo.
