And then the thought comes: „We absolutely have to take some nice photos of this!“ But where do you put so many people? I, as one of the Photographers from Photogenika I live in Munich and know this question all too well. But don't worry, there's a magical solution for unforgettable memories with the whole family, which I recently experienced myself!
Studio or nature? The agony of choice for large groups
We frequently receive the question: "How many people can actually fit in your car?" Studio“To be honest, we sometimes reach our limits there. Our Photo studio at Ostbahnhof It's perfect for smaller families or individual portraits, but it gets a bit cozy with more than five adults and two children. Photo studio in the Westend We do have a bit more space for up to ten people, but what if the family is even bigger? If necessary, we can simply squeeze in a little more. But what if you really want all generations together for a group photo, and the family is a bit larger than you think? Simple: We'll pack our cameras and come to you – or meet at a beautiful spot of your choice in nature!
A special assignment: family photos in the Allgäu region
Recently, a very special request came in – from a lovely family we at Photogenika in Munich already knew from previous shoots. The occasion: the christening of their youngest family member and the associated large family gathering in the Allgäu region. A perfect opportunity, because when else do you get the chance to photograph... entire Family gathered in one place? Said and done! For this particular one Photoshoot family I packed my equipment and promptly set off from Munich to the picturesque Allgäu region.
Location with mountain views: Our meeting point near Kempten
The plan was brilliant: We used the location of the family gathering as our photo shoot location. The family had chosen an idyllic little hill near a golf course close to Kempten – with an absolutely breathtaking panoramic view of the mountains! It couldn't have been better. And so off we went: 15 (!) family members, laden with camping blankets for cozy breaks, strollers for the little ones, a hearty snack, and of course, toys, hiked with me to our photo spot. The walk there alone was already a little adventure!

Under brilliant sunshine and against this breathtaking backdrop, our Outdoor family photoshoot It was simply wonderful! We had plenty of time and space to capture every conceivable situation in a relaxed atmosphere: the whole gang together, Grandma and Grandpa proudly with all their grandchildren, the adult siblings, lively children's portraits while playing, and even romantic couple photos of the parents. The beauty of a Outdoor shooting What's special about this is the relaxed atmosphere. While I photographed the adults, the children could play, run around, or take a short break on the blanket – and that's often when the most authentic and beautiful pictures were taken.
More than just photos: Memories for eternity
This day in the Allgäu region was truly special for me as a photographer, and I believe for the family as well. It wasn't stiff posing, but rather a joyful togetherness, a shared experience full of laughter and relaxed moments. It was so much fun capturing this connection and joy.
