Year in review 2015 and Christmas greetings

Gathering is a beginning.
Togetherness is progress.
Cooperation is success.
(Henry Ford)

Over the past year we have repeatedly blogged many beautiful portrait pictures from our photo studio or from outdoor shots. With this quote from Henry Ford, I would like to look back on the year 2015 at Photogenika.

"Gathering is a beginning."

Quite atypically for the starting point of an apprenticeship as a photographer, our Jessie started learning with us in March. During her first training as a florist, she was able to practice creativity and dealing with customers, which is now also benefiting us at Photogenika. She mastered passport photos and application photos very quickly, so that she can now fully devote herself to the first portrait photos.
In August we got even more reinforcements in our team: Claudi started working for us as a photographer. With her cheerful nature, she quickly convinced us colleagues and our customers. We look forward to many exciting photo shoots with you!
And last but not least, our Nicki also started her apprenticeship with us in September. Funnily enough, she is also a trained florist and, together with Jessie, has already put her creativity to the test with this year's Advent wreath. At this point, thank you again, the two wreaths for our two photo studios turned out great!

"Cohesion is progress."

Working together is not everything, we also stuck together as a team and this year we also did a lot together outside of work in the photo studios.
To get to know our new employees and strengthen our team spirit, we made a trip to the climbing forest in Vaterstetten. It was exciting to be hanging from a rope high up in the trees and to trust your colleagues blindly. But it was great fun and everyone was sure afterwards that we would have to do it again next year.
Of course, as a Munich company, you can't miss out on
to go on a company outing to the Oktoberfest. Mostly in traditional costumes, we first strengthened ourselves with chicken and beer in the Ochsenbraterei, and then at the Munich Slides we saw who would finish first. It was funny!
And because we had so much fun together on these two trips, we didn't just want to go out to eat at this year's Christmas party. Unfortunately, the weather gods thwarted our plans, so we couldn't go tobogganing as planned.
Instead, we took a spring-like walk through the old town of Munich, professionally guided by the very nice and competent city guide Susanne Meyer from Weißer Stadtvogel. It's hard to believe what else you can learn about "your" city! To warm up, there was a mulled wine at the town hall and then we went to the Grill & Grace STEAKHOUSE in Munich, almost next to our photo studio in the West End. This is a very special steakhouse: You order your meat and grill it yourself under expert guidance in the middle of the steakhouse. A dream for all non-vegetarians and highly recommended.

"Cooperation is success."

The first thing that comes to mind is that our former trainee Moira successfully passed her final exam in July and is now continuing to work for Photogenika. We are very pleased that you will remain a part of Photogenika in the future!
Working in a team simply has many advantages: you have more fun than working alone, you exchange ideas, you are creative together and you are successful in implementing new ideas. We were also successful in several photo competitions this year: In autumn I won 10th place in the ppc (Profi Portrait Club) photo competition on the subject of "Diva".
At the bpp contest 2016 in the category "Wedding" I made it into the top 25 (http://www.b-p-p.info/qualifikationen/info/der-bpp-contest-bildwettbewerb/contest-2016-unsortiert/portrait/)
And I'm particularly proud that Claudi made it into the TOP15 at the bpp/Fuji Photobook Award 2016 for the topic "Wedding Photography". Now it's time to keep your fingers crossed, because the winners will be announced in Cologne in February!

Finally, I would like to thank our employees, customers, business partners and friends for the time we spent together and for their support in 2015. I wish you contemplative and happy hours with your loved ones, but also rest and time to relax. In addition, I wish us all a good start into the new year 2016 and good luck and success with all the upcoming projects, plans and photo shoots. I look forward to seeing and photographing many new and old faces again in 2016.
