Hey there! Great to have you here and want to learn more about the Photogenika team!
My name is Valentina, but honestly, everyone calls me Vali. And since September 2024, I've been the new trainee here at the super Photogenics team in Munich!
From Hamburg to Munich: My path to Photogenika
Coming to Munich was a bit of a move for me, as I'm originally from the north, specifically from beautiful Hamburg. Of course, I felt a bit of sadness about leaving my hometown, but the anticipation of Munich and this amazing training program made up for it. And I have to say: Munich exceeded my expectations! I love strolling through the alleys, constantly discovering new, charming corners, and experiencing the vibrant subculture scene that makes the city so special.
My passion: People & emotions in focus
But my heart beats not only for Munich’s alleys, but especially for the Photography – with a very clear focus: people! For me, there's nothing more beautiful and exciting than capturing a person's personality and real, authentic moments. Especially the emotional moments in life—whether bubbling joy, quiet contemplation, or deep connection—these are the moments I most enjoy capturing with my camera. For me, a good photo tells a story that touches without many words and might even give you goosebumps.
When I'm not behind the camera: My hobbies
When I'm not out with my camera or in the studio, I enjoy immersing myself in foreign worlds (preferably with a good book in hand) or dancing with my friends. And my absolute favorite companion on all my adventures is my four-legged friend Kalle. He's always there and keeps me in a good mood! On the weekends, I often head out into nature. Whether it's a hike in the mountains around Munich or just a relaxing stroll with Kalle and my friends—the main thing is to be outside and have good company.
More than just pictures: What is important to me
In addition to everything I personally enjoy, I'm someone who likes to get involved and stand up for things that are important to me. Topics like politics and social issues also concern me a lot. I firmly believe that photography can also give you a voice and tell stories that inspire thought or open up new perspectives. This is often reflected in my work, especially when I Portraits and try to show the person behind the facade.
I look forward to getting to know you!
I am really looking forward to the coming years of my Training here at PhotogenikaIt's great to learn something new every day, benefit from the experienced photographers here, and turn my passion into my career. But most of all, I'm looking forward to getting to know you, hearing your stories, and perhaps capturing some of your special moments for eternity.
Feel free to take a look in the studio (Photo studio in the Westend or Photo studio at Ostbahnhof) over, I look forward to seeing you!
Best regards,
Your Vali
