From May 1, 2025, a lot will change when it comes to creating passport photos. At least when applying for an ID card. Or should we say that almost everything will stay the same? Because from the customer's point of view, the only thing that changes is the way the image is transferred. And that's exactly what we're happy to take care of for you.
In any case, the Federal Ministry of the Interior has introduced new guidelines to increase the security of our identity documents. In future, only e-passport photos that are digitally transmitted to the authorities will be accepted.

That new law is designed to prevent one thing above all: image manipulation. By taking photos on site under supervision and directly transmitting the digital passport photos, so-called morphing, i.e. combining several faces to create a new artificial image, is made impossible.
Until further notice, these e-passport photos will be required for applying for identity cards. We do not yet know whether this will also be required for passports or elsewhere.

From the customer's perspective, only the method of transmitting the image changes from printed to digital. Customers can also download the digital e-passport photo themselves.
