My study trip to Dublin \u2013 An unforgettable weekend<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

As part of our 2025 vocational school trip, I was able to participate in a study trip to Dublin. What an adventure! We were all from Munich and the surrounding area, and we were incredibly excited to be in the Irish capital. But as is often the case with travel, there were also a few surprises and funny moments. Here's my report on our time in Dublin.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Thursday \u2013 Arrival and first impressions<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Our first day began with a long journey. We arrived in Dublin late in the evening, and the bus took us directly to the hostel. I was a bit surprised when we entered the accommodation. Of course, it was mainly due to the late hour, but the rooms were smaller than expected. Nevertheless, it was very cozy, and the best part was the wall decoration \u2013 interesting graffiti everywhere, which gave the hostel a very special atmosphere. To stretch our legs a bit, we went for a little walk around the city \u2013 in the middle of the night! It was a bit crazy, but we finally found a place where we could get something to eat. Along the way, we met lots of cheerful, drunk people, some of whom were wearing funny costumes. It was the perfect introduction to the wild and lively atmosphere of Dublin.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Friday \u2013 City exploration and interesting discoveries<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

On Friday morning, we started with a simple breakfast at the hostel and set out to explore Dublin on our own. The city was impressive, and we almost couldn't stop taking photos. There was just so much to see! One of our spontaneous discoveries was the banqueting room of the Bank of Ireland. We were lucky enough to be allowed to look inside. It was truly fascinating and a good insight into the country's history. At lunchtime, we took refuge from the heavy rain in a cozy burger shop and took a break. After warming up a bit, we headed back to the hostel. In the evening, we had a delicious meal and then sat down to edit the first photos. We wanted to finish the photo book as quickly as possible. A bit of work is part of collecting so many memories; after all, we're on a study trip.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Saturday \u2013 Trip to Howth and cooking together<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

On Saturday, we headed out of the city to Howth, a small fishing village on the coast. The trip was a real highlight! We walked along the coast; the views were simply fantastic, and I took tons of pictures. Luckily, the weather cooperated, and the sun shone down on us. Although, as expected, the wind was quite strong at times. After our walk, we returned to the train station and grabbed something to eat before heading back to Dublin. In the afternoon, we decided to cook together. It was a rather chaotic undertaking, as we were preparing pasta with pesto and a large salad for about 30 people. But it was incredibly fun, and the meal turned out really delicious. Luckily, I did the cooking, so I didn't have to worry about washing up! Of course, a few nightcaps were a must\u2014a fresh Guinness was the perfect end to the day. After that, it was back to editing the photos to get the photo book ready in time.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Sunday began with breakfast, which left us all a little sore \u2013 all that hiking had taken its toll! Afterward, we went on a guided tour of Dublin Castle, where we learned a lot about the city's history and took lots of great photos. Afterward, we visited Trinity College and the "Books of Kells" exhibition. I was particularly impressed by the old library \u2013 even though it was partially empty for restoration. Nevertheless, it was a fascinating insight into the history of books and the first printing press. Lots of interesting information and great pictures \u2013 it really was a perfect spot for our photographers! In the afternoon, we treated ourselves to a short break at the hostel before heading to the famous Temple Bar. There was live music and a Guinness \u2013 and that cost about 10 euros a glass! But it was worth it, although that meant we only had one drink before heading back to the hostel after a lot of fun and dancing. In the evening, we cooked together again \u2013 this time we had the same dish as yesterday, but it was just as good as before. And of course we ended this day by editing our pictures.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Unfortunately, Monday was our last day in Dublin. We packed our bags and checked out. To fill the time until our departure, we took a final walk to the Harp Bridge to say goodbye to Dublin. It was a lovely moment that gave us another chance to enjoy the city in peace. Before heading to the airport, we treated ourselves to a donut and an oat cappuccino for a little refreshment. And then, sadly, it was time to say "Goodbye Dublin." We flew back to Munich \u2013 tired, but full of unforgettable impressions and wonderful memories.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Conclusion:<\/p>

The trip to Dublin was definitely one of the most beautiful trips I've ever taken. It was not only educational, but also full of fun, adventure, and unforgettable moments. I learned a lot about Irish history and culture, made new friends, met many lovely people, and, of course, took a ton of amazing photos. Dublin has definitely found a place in my heart, and I hope to return one day.<\/p>
